Pastured Pork

"Nothing helps scenery like ham and eggs." Mark Twain

Our pigs don’t stink. When managed well, pigs are rarely odiferous. Our pigs aren’t forced to lay in their own excrement. They aren’t cannibalistic either. We don't need to cut their tails off, for our pigs don't eat each other's tails. We are particular about the way we raise our pork. We select for those who are hardy on pasture. They are given access to shelter, sunshine, water, soil and pasture contributing to their contentment, which in turn contributes to their overall health and some great-tasting meat! Pigs on pasture have less health problems specifically less incidents of rhinitis, respiratory problems and foot and leg problems.

Our piglets are allowed to nurse their mother a minimum of 6 weeks. After that they are supplemented with goat’s milk from our own pastured goats when it’s available. In addition, we feed them our own OP corn, plus they are on pasture. We also give them access to Organic Thorvin kelp which supplies them with minerals and vitamins harvested from the ocean north of Iceland. Our pigs don’t receive hormones or antibiotics.

When animals are raised the way they were created to be raised, when they eat what they were created to eat, when they live the way they were created to live, they are much healthier. Healthy animals yield healthy meat. This contributes to healthier folks who appreciate great-tasting food.

Our pork is second-to-none delicious and is hands-down the best. We ought to know for pastured pork is the only pork our family will eat.

We raise Berkshire-cross pork. Berk's are a traditional breed that have an excellent disposition and do very well in their natural habitat.
