Pastured Chickens

“Ex ovo omnia. Everything from an egg.” ~William Harvey (1578-1657) English Physician

Our eggs come from hens that are allowed to roam outside in the sunshine and fresh air, scratching for bugs, seeds and greens the way they were intended to. Because of this, we have healthy hens who produce healthy eggs that are out of this world! The hens receive no antibiotics, growth hormones or aresenic-laced feed. Their beaks are never clipped for they are not cannibalistic like conventionally-raised chickens. The egg yolks are firm and bright orange full of B vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids and are quite tasty. Eggs from chickens on pasture are higher in folic acid and vitamin B12, as well as the antioxidants, lutein and zeaxanthan. Our family will not and cannot choke down conventionally-raised, pale-yolked eggs.

Our eggs are $5.00 per dozen and at this time, are available seasonally (early summer to early fall) at our farm. (Our chickens go on strike in the winter).

“This recipe is certainly silly. It says to separate two eggs, but it doesn’t say how far to separate them.”
~Gracie Allen
“Eggs Benedict is genius. It’s eggs covered in eggs. I mean, come on, that person should be the president.” ~Wylie Dufresne
